After training, working as a CSTM seems tranquil and effortless. Almost like semi retirement. If only it stayed that way, I would never work for anyone else ever again!
BUT, when you hear other drivers almost constantly moaning and moaning, and complaining about there routes being a nightmare and carrying heavy loads of water etc etc, it has literally put me off.
Yes, I would appear weak and assuming that there experiences would happen to me? Well after 2 months or so, it's beginning to come true.
The job is easy peasy, it's most of the time nice with driving and you feel free in doing your job.
A job is a job at the end of the day, and I've done much more physical work in the past when I was younger, but I just think the demands of you physically carrying very heavy shopping up stairs and trying to find sometimes ridiculous notes and addresses that take up valuable time on your next drop, it is everyday now and it's very draining.
The shift patterns are demanding, and working nights and days takes a lot out of you
Freedom of open road.
Shifts, no social life, average pay, heavy lifting.
