Within Primark you always know you will never be bored! Whether it be merchandising your department, looking through reports or giving your customers all the attention they deserve. You will never be without a job to do.
As I start my shift, my first priority is to check on my morning staff who work through deliveries. If they need any help I am there to advise, lend a hand and to give feedback when necessary. I always find its important to be an approachable manager. I have to order all the stock I need in for the relevant departments. This is vital as it can have drastic impact on the stores sales and the standards on the shop floor. I make a plan for the day and prioritize the jobs in hand.
An important part of the smooth running of our store is the relationship I have with the other managers. We are a tight knit group who have the same goal, to have a successful day in terms on customers, staff and sales. We have good communication which is key.
A challenge within the job is dealing with a large workload, and tight deadlines. Often being un-achievable. This can cause a huge strain on a day to day basis. This is why a close management team is crucial, as the support is vital.
One thing I extremely enjoy about working at Primark is seeing the joy on my customers faces when we are able to go above and beyond to help them. This to me, is priceless. Saying that, its also a wonderful feeling to see the relationship between my staff and customers blossom through conversations.
