Heavy workload for such a small retailer.
Store Manager (Current Employee) – London, Greater London – 28 March 2017
Day to day you are required to perform all levels of duties, Cleaning - shelves- demonstration areas- back of house, provide customer service, advice - quick learning of products essential, visual merchandising, cash control, maintaining the store's appearance.
I have learned that as a manager it is preferable to work in a larger store with a bigger team who provide a variety of skill sets- This way it is far easier to delegate tasks and not be contacted on days off.
Management are full of encouragement and celebrations but extremely critical when you are not performing, they expect a significant amount of reporting even if you were not part of the top 50 estate.
In terms of culture, the business is great, it has fantastic values, supports good causes and celebrates breaking the mold.
Decent bonus scheme, plenty of personal benefits.
Not a lot of support from regional stores if you should need any help with cover
