I started working for Argos October 2010, and was a taken on a christmas temp customer advisor, but was kept on as a permanent member of staff as on January 2011. When I first started I was trained simple stockroom requirements as well as having basic till training. I then went on to teach myself customer services through watching other members of staff as well as learning from experience. I also trained myself on the jewellery counter e.g. different types of metals, diamonds, how to adjust with links etc. I went on to become a team leader in June 2014. I have seen Argos grow and change over the years, as it keeps up to date with the changing world of technology and convenience, for example fast track which makes it easier at faster for customers to pay and collect their items. A typical working day involves me doing displays and a lot of customer service work, although I am a flexible worker, who is happy to help out in any area of the store. I get along well with my colleagues and managers. I have learnt a lot at Argos and feel I have gained many skills that will benefit me in a variety of jobs. However I want to step out of my comfort zone and try something new.
