Not All It's Cracked Up To Be
Sales and Retention Advisor (Former Employee) – Warrington, Cheshire – 27 February 2018
I worked as a Sales and Retentions Advisor. Training was really good and informative, but as soon as training ends you're more or less left to your own devices. Managers coach you once a week (if you're lucky) and usually say the same thing. I found that within my training group we were all told we were the best in the group and could earn amazing money during coaching sessions but were told not to tell the rest of the group. Also didn't like that we were told to lie or 'enhance the truth' to customers and try to sell everything to every customer we spoke to to earn bonus, even if they were elderly and didn't understand what they were buying. Was also very stressful being yelled at all day by customers. How you earned your bonus also changed weekly depending on how well everyone was doing (i.e if people were earning a lot, they would make it more difficult to earn bonus) which is unfair and confusing.
Lots of employees to engage with, some team competitions, good pay
Stressful, tedious, tiring, bonus not as great as advertised, unhelpful
