I started as a Christmas temp at one store. And I couldn't fault the store at all. The staff worked on your strengths and encouraged you to keep improving. Giving better skills to work up the boots employment ladder. My manager sent me to another store when my Christmas temp contract was up as a consultant based on the skills I showed in her store.
In my new store I am still on a temporary contract, and they managed to mess up my transfer so I'm classed as a brand new employees to the company losing any benefits like holidays I would of been entitled to. I was interviewed and told 30 hours but I'm actually contracted to 5.5 and only do 22. I'm doing the consultant job, put on the timetable as one but contracted and payed as a sale assistant. This store doesn't let its staff improve. In fact they discourage it. Making the job disappointing and unenjoyable.
With both my Christmas temp job, and this job payroll and management has messed up. Meaning in both jobs I had to work 8 weeks before seeing a penny. Some companies loan you money if they mess up to help you last till payday. This isn't something boots do. If they mess up you have to struggle on no money and work for free.
Lots listed in comment. Payroll paying months late is one
