Amazing team members, lacking in areas
Retail Assistant (Part-Time) (Current Employee) – Poole, ENG – 17 November 2014
New look isn't a bad place to work, there are some great discounts for the staff and other discount offers from the shopping center to be given to the staff however in the period of time I have been working there I have seen many members of staff come and go and many management positions do the same. I am currently 17 until come March 2015 and the rate of hourly pay for under 18s is minimum wage however I have many fluctuations with my monthly pay and these include a increase of 3.79 and hour to 6.32 for a minimum of 3 months, after three months my pay went back down to minimum and me and 3 other part time team members were told there were troubles with payroll once we had confronted them that our pay had decreased, also stated on my contract in black and white it states my pay to be 6.32 and hour which is not what I am getting paid, and this contract was drawn up in the presence of me and the current manager whom I was employed by. Another recent payment is was that I was adamant I was underpaid by at least £40, I keep stern records of my hours and total the amount I am to paid for that shift and overall for a month calculate my monthly pay and since the past month of October 2014 my personal total has matched every time with the amount I had been paid.
There is the common issue of changes to the weekly rotas where shifts are changed without a suitable amount of notice and are not set times for any member of staff, I am a student full time at college and I have constantly received phones calls during lessons which is disruptive from the company leaving voice mails to ask whether I could come in when they know my availability.
Poor pay, last minute notice shift changes
