I worked at Premier Inn as a night team member for 3 years. During that time, I found the teams I worked with to be friendly and approachable in the main. Premier Inn claim that they're all about career progression, I didn't find that to be the case personally, hence my reason for leaving. I found myself stuck on nights for 3 years, even though, the management were well aware that I really wanted to progress to dayshift / backshift . I guess they only do progression for those whose face fits. I have actually seen people being hired for day work, even though the management could have given me additional training / coaching, so I could have filled that day position, like I wanted all along. I took the night position originally, as a means of securing work with a secure company, but always wanted to progress, but not to be obviously. Premier inn's loss will be another hotels gain, that's all I can say!
Good team members and steady employment
no genuine career progression for me personally
