Good place to learn basics of catering
Kitchen assistant / Chef (Former Employee) – Poole North – 6 January 2013
Wrking at premier inn youll do about three split shift per week, morning starts are at 5:30am till 12:00pm approx then back at 4:30pm till 11:00pm.
I learned alot from my head chef, mainly being thrown in the deep end when I first started, after 6months I was able to run the kitchen on my own without assistance due to alot of staff cut backs.
My co workers at the time felt like family due to the amount of hours Id work, we all helped each other out where need be whether your in the kitchen or front of house.
The hardest part of the job would be when you have to do the breakfast shift on your own, you would have to cook/KP and take delivery.
The most enjoyable part of the job I found was in summer when there was a large team, busy and everything would run smooth.
