Ever changing Customer facing environment
Financial Specialist (Current Employee) – Post Office Ltd – 8 July 2012
Each day can be very varied depending on myself and my Counter colleagues abiltiy to interact with all customers. It is essential to be able to work and think as a team, supporting and assisting each other in an effort to promote the products and services that the Post Office has to offer in a non pressured way.
I am required to motivate and lead the Counter staff to maintain a focus on ensuring all customers are offered courteous and helpful service and treated fairly, deputising for the Manager when necessary.
It can be quite an arduous task on quieter days as the branch is targeted on its performance and this can be affected by such things as the weather, something that is out of our control but can play a huge part in each days success.
I enjoy the interaction with customers and providing excellent customer service. This does not always involve selling a product. As I am based out in the branch I am reguarly approached for enquiries and help with parcels. I view this as equally an equally important part of my role and helps build good relationships with prospective new customers and can often lead to a return visit to discuss products with me.
