I carry out a daily clinical walk round, finding out residents needs as these can change. Dispensing of medication, organising staff to look after residents, book GP visits, deliver personal care to residents. Due to my home manager coming from a non-nursing background the clinical area is mainly left for me to deal with. I only have 1 permanent trained nurse, remaining nurses will be agency and this can be supporting them to deliver the appropriate care. The hardest part of the job is time management, The enjoyable part of the job is having to act on my own initiative and making decisions to prioritise residents needs.
free lunches, regular hours
being on call as due to shortage of regular staff can end up being unable to take time off
