After being in the bank over 8 years I have seen it change and grow rapidly, The culture has shifted completely from results/sales based management to a more holistic input and developmental approach which has benefited both customers and colleagues.
The main challenge faces on a day to day basis was client migration, in regards to offering new and innovative services compared to more out dated methods of banking, as a large population of our clients were not used to the rapid growth of new technology.
I really enjoyed the team work and generally making our customers lives easier by just doing the simple things, like showing them how to bank via their phone or showing how to use skype via our digital workshops.
Barclays was a great company with some great employee perks, I did not want to leave however I was offered voluntary redundancy and the timing was perfect with things in my personal life.
