Mcdonalds is an exceptional resume filler. From food safety, people skills, management training, organizational skills, development and mentorship, McDonalds is number one, to me, when it comes to the Quick Service industry. Tuition reimbursement, college training incentives, quarterly bonuses and cell phone discounts are some of the many incentives that McDonalds offers.
I started with McDonalds as a crew member in 2006 in NJ and eventually became a Department manager and Assistant Manager in Texas. I had the opportunity to work in many different franchise stores to get a better feel of business. Since McDonalds franchise are Owner Operators, this is where the peaks and valleys come in. Some owners require their male employees to shave, provide their own uniforms, while other restaurants did not require them to shave and provided every part of the uniform required to do the job.
McDonalds taught me how to interact with people, whether it were customers or fellow associates and managers. My drive to satisfy people in the customer service field led to great opportunities. I got a chance to travel across states, work side by side with development managers, and fellow associates and together, build the brand.
McDonalds often called for late nights, long hours, early mornings and everything in between. But, I will say, hard work pays off. I was often recognized for deflating crew turnover, increasing retention, having the lowest food cost and overall brand ambassador for the company.
McDonalds has many, many, training tools that excited and motivated me to advance my career in the customer service and hospitality fields. The company provided remote classes, training seminars, team building events and outings that all helped in our growth.
McDonalds has pretty good benefits. 401k, tuition reimbursement, cell phone discounts and ok insurance are some of the perks. There was always incentives I was pretty good at creating to continue to excite the management and crew teams. Regardless the long hours, customer complaints about the most ridiculous things, if pleasing others while you solidify your career excites you, this is the place to be.
Tuition reimbursement, bonuses, health insurance, cell phone discounts, company outings
Long hours, customer complaints, fast paced, needs never met
