There are pros and cons to every job. Retail is in a state of turmoil overall, and most companies are trying to keep up with changing times. Clarks is no different. In my five years working there have been 4 major changes to company structure, policy, and compensation.
If you can find a good manager you should be okay, but there are plenty of bad managers out there which I believe is due to poor choices made by Clarks' middle management, and lack of overall planning for inevitable short falls.
Clarks have started to work on fixing this, but time will tell if it was too little too late.
Great team environment, can build yourself up from the bottom if you are driven, fair discounts, decent benefits
Terrible management in corporate, reactionary sales with small outcomes that are time consuming, could not keep promise of livable compensation, lack of job mobility without relocating to another state
