Fun and relaxed atmosphere
HR Administration Assistant (Former Employee) – Exeter, Devon – 24 January 2017
I took this role as a temporary job while waiting to start my MSc in Engineering Geology at the University of Leeds and to give me experience of working in an office environment. My typical day consisted of assisting the HR officers with the collection of recruitment paperwork for new employees. This involved frequent communication with other departments within the council and other third party organisations via email and telephone conversations. The rigorous data protection policies and employment checks needed for staff working with vulnerable adults and children meant that attention to detail was key to ensure all relevant paperwork had been collected and contained accurate information. This gave me an understanding of the importance of data protection policies not only for employee files but also company information as a whole. Frequent communication with other departments and third party organisations gave me a polite, professional and friendly telephone manner.
