Intermountain Healthcare is a community-owned system of non-profit hospitals and clinics that provides medical care to residents of Utah and Idaho. Intermountain’s physicians, nurses and other caregivers are recognised national leaders in providing high-quality care, regardless of patients’ ability to pay. Intermountain has been named the nation’s first- or second-place integrated healthcare system for the past nine years by Modern Healthcare magazine and Verispan.

Approach

Intermountain Healthcare worked with Indeed to increase the quality of its applications by sponsoring all of its jobs and tracking performance results with Taleo Enterprise Edition, its applicant tracking system (ATS). Paying for applicants who specifically searched for Intermountain jobs gave the client confidence that its resources were being allocated effectively.

Using sponsored jobs, Indeed’s pay per click advertising product, Intermountain was able to maximise exposure for all positions without having to post jobs individually. “Indeed was the best solution to get the greatest amount of visibility with the least amount of effort,” said Debbie Means, Recruiting Sourcing Coordinator at Intermountain Healthcare. “Indeed was the only model where we could get visibility for all jobs while only paying for performance.”

Results

Indeed filled both clinical and administrative positions for Intermountain’s network of hospitals and clinics, including many hard-to-fill positions. “We were looking for an Organisational Development Manager for just over a year, and filled the job within the first three months of sponsoring jobs on Indeed,” Means said.

An additional benefit of sponsoring jobs on Indeed was gaining additional targeted jobseeker attention on Indeed’s expansive network of partner sites. “We were impressed with the amount of exposure generated by Indeed’s partner network,” Means said. “Our jobs are being represented in more places online by advertising with Indeed.” Over a recent six-month period, Intermountain Healthcare tracked the following results from Indeed:

  • Approximately 400 applicants per month
  • An average of six hires per month
  • $2.50 per applicant, $167 per hire

“We will be making pay per click a larger part of our strategy based on our success with Indeed,” Means said.
