The payment structure is dependant on how you are employed/contracted to Yodel. Yes the home delivery team are paid by parcel using thier own vehicle and fuel which then has to be invoiced to the Yodel. But the employed drivers are paid hourly and use the company's vehicle and fuel
I am paid 70p per parcel. Taking in to account the unpaid route planning, parcel count, scanning and loading of vehicle and the HMRC approved mileage rate of 45p per mile (I regularly do more than 30 miles a day) the hourly rate can be less than £4 an hour even though I am rushing to finish the work as quickly as possible.
Do all depots pay different per parcel? Do they pay mileage on top of the pay per parcel?
Yes. payment by the parcel which can sometimes lead to very quiet weeks and can pay more for fuel than you get back by the time you have to retry deliveries.
