Mgs management ruin a good job
Security Officer (Former Employee) –  Dorset21 February 2019
Was a good job very poor management who treat you badly if you got your own point of view then you wont get on in the minstry of defence guard service. Need managers who can manage in the job. Need to move with the modern security industry way behind the private security industry.
Pros
Use of camp gym
Cons
Poor management long hours

Awful management
Security Officer (Current Employee) –  Wales12 September 2018
Job security is nil and moral is lower than ever. No promotion prospects and wage freezes for 10 years mean that it is no longer a worthwhile job and now they are talking about taking the shift allowance away. Many staff have left to better paid and better working hours as car park attendants and cleaners
Pros
Some good colleagues
Cons
Very very bad management from OM to head office

Good company to start with
Security Officer (Former Employee) –  Various25 May 2018
Although the company was Initial Security Services it started out as Securigaurd Limited, the management structure was based in Andover and there was an Office Based in Vernon. All the security Staff were friendly and chatty. It's hard to say what was the best or hardest part of the job as it was a team effort.
Pros
Friendly Management
Cons
To many sites.

Great job to do. Good mates. But more and more demanding.
Ministry of Defence security officer (Former Employee) –  Portsmouth15 August 2017
Working for the M.O.D is a great job to do, plenty of responsibilities and lots to learn. The wage increases am afraid has been limited to 1% per year for a very long time and not good. Pension is good.
Great people to work with and more responsibilities being added all the time.
Pros
Good mates. Good holiday entitlement. Lots to do.
Cons
12 Hour shifts. Your body clock gets confused.

Under pressure no support from management.
Security Officer (Former Employee) –  Devonport Dockyard1 February 2017
Poor poor management spoilt the job. No help or guidance, very little support. If face fits fine if you ask questions or show youve got back-bone then dont bother applying.for example the old section i was in is managed by someone who has employed his wife, his daughter ,son in law etc etc.wrong on so many levels. My advice dont bother, unless your related to management!!! Poor working condions ,stear clear
