This depends on the position that you have applied for. Our Store Managers and Assistant Managers within our stores are full time, 40 hours per week. Our Supervisors tend to be between 8 hours to 20 hours and our Sales Assistants range from 4 hour to 8 hour contracts, but do have the opportunity to work over time.

As with most retail positions, our busiest times are at weekends, so we do expect our store colleagues to be able to work weekends.

The vast majority of our positions within our Store Support Centre (Head Office) are full time positions.

Our store retail positions vary depending on the turnover at the store. They fall within a grading which determines the salary offered for manager positions.

At this current time, we pay Sales Assistants national minimum wage and Supervisors £8.66 per hour.

I personally very proud to say I work at The Works Stores. Whilst I might not be in one of our great stores, it is these stores and our products that everyone thinks of when you mention The Works.

Our customers love shopping with us and we really do love it when we get new products to play with!

Ask how we genuinely feel. I felt bullied by my area manager and there was no one I could turn to as she had been in the business so many years. Now look at half of her area that has dropped off this year.... That isn't a coincidence

Hello, we require the standard right to work documentation. For example; passport, birth certificate and proof of National Insurance.

For our store positions we don't always require proof of grades, but we may seek references from previous employers.

For some of our senior or specialist positions, such as a Finance Manager, we may ask for proof of grades or trade certificates.

Something smart. I wore a black shirt which was tucked into a grey skirt with some black tights and smart full black shoes. I also wore my leather jacket over the top and I still recurved the job.
