Residential Youth Worker (Former Employee) – Cambridgeshire – 6 August 2012
Typical day would be taking young people to education, staying with them and encouraging them to participate in education. Defuse any conflict situations when possible, listen and advise young people. Take young people on activities encourage appropriate behaviour. Fill in all paperwork precisely, liase with outside agencies. Sleep in duties.
Shift partner was supportive and knowledgable.
I feel that the managment side was inedaquate.
The hardest part of the job was 24 hour shifts.
The most enjoyable part of the job was working with and building professional relations with the young people.
