The Donkey Sanctuary Careers and Employment

About us
The Donkey Sanctuary is one of the UK’s largest international animal welfare charities, currently supporting projects in over 35 countries worldwide. We are working for a world where donkeys and mules live free from suffering, and their contribution to humanity is fully valued.

The Donkey Sanctuary has grown from a charity rescuing UK donkeys from

Today, we have 10 sanctuaries around the UK and Europe, giving lifelong care to over 6,000 donkeys and mules, and we reach approximately 1.8 million donkeys and mules through our work in 35 countries worldwide.

What a beautiful place to work, some lovely people to work with and 99% of visitors are very supportive of what they see the DS stands for..
Sadly nowadays its a corporate monster run by those who have never got their hands or wellies dirty. Its a money making machine with very little focus where it should/used to be.
