I completed 24years in the military and there were ups and downs in all aspects of the job but if you are a forward thinking person who strives on bettering yourself everyday then you will succeed in this job.

Good Character Building Workplace but no Work/Life Balance.
Musician (Former Employee) –  Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire7 December 2019
A good place to develop key skills and attributes but not amazing for work life balance.
Leave or TOIL was sometimes not confirmed until last minute which meant lack of an ability to plan ahead.

Worse place to work ! Officers are a bunch of spoon fed toffs without the slightest idea of how to command.
SNCO'S have a constant chip on shoulders.

Food = horrendous
Living quarters = horrendous
Pay = horrendous

Major overhaul needed
Port Operator (Former Employee) –  Marchwood, Hampshire5 December 2019
Far too much beauracracy red tape and cost cutting by the MOD going on which has made conditions ridiculous for the boys n girls. Senior ranks that don't care two hoots about their subordinates and are only interested in looking after themselves and backstab to get further in their careers (which goes all the way down the ranks)

Wouldn’t recommend
Infantry Soldier (Former Employee) –  London, Greater London4 December 2019
I hope you like being cold and treated poorly if you don’t I’d probably look for a different job, also the process it’s self takes a long time. Management especially in the infantry is terrible.

Ammunition Technician (Former Employee) –  UK3 December 2019
I would probably still be in the Army now if I didn't injure my knee. I had some of the best times of my life in there and experienced all sorts of things during my work.

COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM OPERATOR (Current Employee) –  Gloucester, Gloucestershire2 December 2019
As a whole the army isn't bad employment its just very difficult to balance work and family life which is know already. The opportunities to travel and actually see the world are brilliant. The biggest problem is the bonuses will no longer exist and that is a same.

Soilder (Former Employee) –  Pirbright30 November 2019
I only did 4 weeks of phase 1 training but as a 27 yr old it was enough. I enjoyed the day to day training but didn't enjoy the living environment.

Would recommend for younger people.

Armed Forces (Current Employee) –  Dishforth, North Yorkshire27 November 2019
It depends with who is managing the private soldiers, most seniors are full of themselves and they luck leadership skills. They need a lot of training on leadership courses, they need how to talk to people of different culture and beliefs, they need to respect one culture and they should know how to handle the private soldiers.
