The products are good! I still use the skin-care range it's excellent!!
Its on the end of a high-street so foot fall is only busy on weekends otherwise the store is quiet 90% of the time which means that during weekdays the 10% of busy-ness you are pressured to reach unattainable targets.
Staff turn over in a small shop of only 5 staff including management, failed to keep full-time staff.
Back of shop is dirty and unclean, staff do not clean up, mugs with tea bags and plates of food are left with mould all over them in the staff area's.
Unprofessional behaviour, Very much like being in school, gossiping and two-faced. Young staff, under 25.
The regular customers are lovely and the staff benefits are really good, lots of discounts.
Long hours, Shifts change at short notice, staff seem two-faced trying to one-up each other, unattainable targets required.
Senior Sales Consultant (Former Employee) – Uxbridge, Greater London – 15 November 2017
I worked for the company for two years and loved it, the company and the benefits are amazing. They are flexible, work around you and you get a great discount in store however I and few others from different stores had trouble with the management. From not hiring enough people to hold a store to favouritism (giving other people extra shifts over you, not giving you the time off you requested months ago). Other than that, amazing. Loved working there.
Great lunch breaks, store discount and free products.
Was rewarding when you could show someone a product that would really bode well for them. It was also good to widen my knowledge on all the different products they have to offer and the way the engredients work well to make the product more effective
Supervisor (Former Employee) – Walthamstow, Greater London – 10 September 2017
Having to search for items for customers and running to the stockroom just in case the item has not been placed at the shop floor. I have learnt good communication skills and team work. When handling a delivery all by yourself which can be difficult as the work load is a lot more on you and you have a time limit to complete the task which can put you in stress. Having a nice meal out with one of your colleagues and having a good chat.

I have loved my job at The Body Shop I just wish they could of given me what I wanted! I had to relocate to get the hours I wanted yet it wasn't the same due to the traveling I had to do and although it should only be a 40 min journey, giving our train service down south I was traveling to long etc
Sales Advisor (Former Employee) – London and Canterbury – 2 July 2017
Working at The Body Shop was one of the best experiences of employment I have ever had. Learning and progressing on the job, whilst working with a supportive, friendly and incredible team were two of the benefits of the job. A typical day at work would involve being briefed on sales targets for the day, specific focusses for the day, as well as being updated and trained on new products. Then working on the shop floor, whether it be assisting customers, or promoting new products at the front of the store. The hardest part of the job is probably stock-refill at the end of the day/during the day but these themselves are not particularly hard tasks. Most enjoyable part is working with a vibrant and enthusiastic team with helpful senior consultants and managers.
Sales Assistant (Former Employee) – Enfield, Greater London – 31 May 2017
The work in The Body Shop was not too bad although there was too many responsibilities and tasks that i had to meet and the salary was not enough for that type of work. The team I was working with was a bit lazy and they were always putting me down. Although I think that not all stores of The Body Shop are exactly the same so I give 3 stars.
Picker/Packer (Former Employee) – Littlehampton, West Sussex – 16 May 2017
The hours could be up to 12hr a day and we got 3 short breaks. The work was not difficult but it was repetitive picking and packing. When enough hours were given it was a fine job to have and the co workers were pleasant.
The contract stated that i would work a minimum of 4 hours 4 days a week, unfortunately some days I was sent home after the 4 hours other days not even given that as there was not enough work for everyone, so consequently I struggled to afford my rent and was unable to plan ahead. It seemed to be more of a seasonal position over Christmas which ceased very soon after. I was given notice of only 2 days to find another job when the placement ended,

I am lucky enough to work for The Body Shop; it's a brilliant job with lots of perks. The management team are outstanding, as are my colleagues. The wage is great, the benefits are awesome and the work/life balance is ideal.
