Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) –  Reading18 April 2017
Thames Water, Green Park, Reading was a great place to work. With a lovely office building and surroundings, positive and friendly staff throughout different departments and organised shift patterns. A typical day would consist of answering customers calls with information or complaint queries about their water supply or work happening in the area. As a customer service assistant I would follow a script and ask questions to ensure I found the correct solution for the customer and provided the correct information.
Pros
consistant shifts and good pay
Cons
late hours

A mix of IT and Non IT projects forming the programme. Time was taken to assess and implement changes, Budgets were always a challenge and stakeholder management was often the best way to run the project.
Pros
Freedom to develop ideas

Capital Project Procurment Manager (Former Employee) –  Reading14 March 2016
What was once a vocational occupation has now become a profit motivated business with scant regard for employee satisfaction and well being.
Any failings are seen a sign of incompetence.
The best parts were meeting suppliers/contractors and seeing how they prepare for working with these big clients.
Pros
Fair salary
Cons
An expectation to drive cost out of suppliers/contractors with no risk
