Once great, now grating.
Engineers Assistant (Former Employee) –  Glasgow14 March 2019
WAS a great place to work for over 10 years. New parent companies have assured this is no longer the case, though this is not always the fault of local management. Generally good staff and plant to work with.

Cat c driver (Former Employee) –  Irvine, North Ayrshire21 March 2018
As an hgv driver you are paid well below the industry rate, health and safety none existent, manager under pressure to put more and more stock on to trucks that lead to daily arguments with staff, no overtime rate, half the trucks not fit for purpose.
Pros
Taxable drinks allowance
Cons
Too many

Undervalued and management heavy
Office Assistant (Former Employee) –  Glasgow, Glasgow12 January 2018
A lot of people in the company work for 5k less than their industry average. The brand itself is expected to soften the shortfall but for me this novelty wore off.

Very easy office hours Mon-Fri 9-5 but many people work through Christmas as it’s a busy time for the trade.

Certain departments have staff revolving in and out. This is because of low pay, non sensical work patterns which leave low level staff frustrated while low/mid management pander to the big wigs in the business.

Has been bought/sold/merged/tookover constantly within last 10 year’s and business objectives keep changing in a way that boggles the mind for anybody who wants to question anything is wasting their breath.

Work here as a stepping stone into a decent job that can pay a living salary but do not expect it here. Some teenagers are working in the company doing full time jobs for 8k annually and adults can often expect a fraction above minimum wage.

The canteen quality is the worst you can imagine it makes school dinners appear as Cordon Bleu.
Pros
Big name company
Cons
Low pay, overmanaged, bad food

Stock Controller/Route Planning (Former Employee) –  Edinburgh, SCT21 October 2013
In the 16 years working for TCB/Bass Brewers they were some of the best times in working life until the last few years when to company (Bass) starting to implode! The management we so understanding and looked after their staff and work colleagues were great. Still friends after all those years. As for the hardest part of the job there really wasn't we all worked a team until the last few years. Enjoyable was going to work in the early days because it was a great relaxed atmosphere.
Pros
Great atmosphere to work in
Cons
Last few years was difficult!!!
