To be honest it only gets one star because I can not give zero.Never quit your old job and work here. Earlier, a company worth recommending, now after changing management they are full of false promises and the company is run by clowns, its the best way to describe it because it is a circus. Sily money, unless you have connections in the company. The most important thing is friendship and favoring, not your work and your dedication to the company.Waste of time!
The shop floor staff are very pleasant and very co-operative. Unfortunately the production managers are very poor at their jobs, giving staff impossible deadlines to finish their jobs and giving lip service all the time to production staff problems. While claiming to be state of the art, the tools that the production staff work on should be in a museum. The company has a 1990s work approach and is not open to new production processes, so it's permanently stuck in the past while its competitors with modern equipment and approach are slowly taking their business away from them. So many friends and family working there and this can be a major conflict of interest in the company, everybody scratching each others back while turning a blind eye and deaf ears to problems that staff raise, and if you do raise any issue then you're a problem to the company. They like YES people and don't want people that think on their feet and raise issues that could help the company.
Many new employees brought in on higher wages than existing employees and no balancing up of wages done. Terrible management in place with most not understanding the technical issues involved in production. Poor attention to detail on finished products resulting in failure of business. Too many promises unfulfilled by poor management. The most abysmal HR department ever seen. Tail wagging the dog in every respect. Too much sweeping under the carpet of problems and secretive payouts of hush money to get rid of trouble. The major project being worked on has failed resulting in large scale redundancy. This is apparently nothing new and this company is known for letting key workers go while keeping long term dead wood in place.
The production workers are life and soul of the place although this can not be said about the management. They're long periods without work and this becomes very mundane because the management are inept at there jobs and can't allocate work accordingly to the employees who have run out of work. It is a hire and fire work environment that puts nepotism over skills. Don't expect a long permanent contract with Teledyne, most new workers don't last more than 2 years.
In the individual business units there was strong team working, helped each other. A problem was shared to resolve, not a blame game Overall influence of the American Corporation changed many things General situation changed once the decision to close our site was announced, also affected other UK BU's

Worked in Finance in Chelmsford for 7 weeks. Its the worst place I have ever worked. Would def not recommend it to anyone. Very poor management and rude and didn't even speak during the day. No structure to job role. No training available. A very serious working environment. Very low morale in team. Some very horrible people working there. Couldn't wait to get out
Good job to get into coding though doesn't leave you with much transferable knowledge and so although you get the key skills it's very difficult to say to another employer I have all this experience but none of the working knowledge relates to you. The people are very nice in general but management can be lacking and there's usually no real sense of urgency about anything.
This company should be closed down. I've witnessed bullying of the worst kind by management towards operators. Nobody to support you when in desperate need. Work was enjoyable and a few nice people but that's it. HR totally incompetent. There is no organisation amongst managers and lots of people are really stressed. Very unhappy environment. Steer clear.
it is a company that doesn't want to change in the way they work even though they constantly emphasise this need to do so. no social culture either. managers seem to care about individuals well being but not their personal development in their careers.
wiring components assembling parts some minor building repairs general vehicle maintainence collecting and delivering parts to suppliers in west sussex. some warehouse duties using stac a truck & pallet trucks

Work is fun and varied provided you match the ambitions of the company. The site is very interesting and historic and the heritage built over the years is apparently. Before they were world leading manufacturers of silicon image sensors, they were world leaders in non silicon image sensors. Pay is poor but work is interesting
I have found Teledyne a nice place to work, I have made many friends and although the day can be quite hectic, the staff still make it a joyful place to be in. The small office makes it more like a family environment and personal issues are always catered for.
