Speedy hire
Driver (Former Employee) –  London, Greater London30 October 2019
I found my time at speedy hire a waste of my time due to the fact i was never given the chance of a promotion. I found management are racist if your not white they make your daily work life harder and get treated different to your white colleagues. I would never recommend Speedy hire to anybody unless you need a job really badly that would be a last option.

Poor company
Driver (Former Employee) –  Portsmouth, Hampshire2 October 2019
Poor management, always trying to make you drive an over weight vehicle then make your life extremely difficult when you refuse to.
Long hours and always finishing late due to poor organisation.
Salary is always wrong even those who have 100% attendance.
Joke of a company,

Management think that they’re gods gift to the business when in reality they’re clowns that couldn’t organise a prayer in a mosque.
They treat staff like utter rubbish

Ok place workmates good
Driver (Current Employee) –  Erith, Greater London2 August 2018
Safety issues when you say anything they always have excuses, every body on different pay, no chances of getting bonuses, put you on routes no one else will do but expect you to carry on regardless, won’t change you for other routes you get the routes every one jacks in on, if you haven’t got all paperwork you have to put it back on your lorry and work around it all day, but if it is important you don’t have to worry about paperwork getting in the way .promise you that your route is only why they sort something out and when you speak to them just shrugs shoulders
Pros
You will work every day
Cons
Hard craft if you want to just drive forget it

Poor pay, Poor management, Decent truck, Decent work mates
32tonne ADR/hi-ab driver (Former Employee) –  Inverness25 June 2017
Cons: Company has very high turn around of staff mainly because of poor pay and lack of management. Get promised lots in interview until u sign the contract then get told u won't need half the things they promised, The Power manager is a store man and I believe he has been promoted above his capability with no experience And poor people skills. Poor transport management you sit in yard from 8am till 11/12am before the equipment is ready to be delivered not getting back till 8/9pm so constantly playing catch up.

Takes a long time to get equipment needed to do job new straps etc even screen wash takes months before getting ordered if at all depending on budgets.

Pros: Company provides decent training and a decent truck for the job. fellow work colleges are very helpful and made the job a lot more satisfying, Working in a small team together trying to hit targets and get the job done, Pleasant customers that u could get the crack with.

Would Need a very laid back approach to the job quite stressful at times and management likes to pass the stress on and doesn't help very often when things don't go to plan. Need to be able to deal with the a lot of situations on your own intuitive.

Got told by a few management that possibly closing speedy power in Inverness if they don't hit targets by the end of year so no much job security,

In all it could possibly be a decent job if can arrange a decent starting salary because very hard to get a pay rise once u have signed contract.
Pros
Decent truck, Training, work colleges
Cons
Poor pay, long hours, Poor management, Don't get equipment to do job safely, Poor leadership, No transport management . Manager micro manages everything

Working at speedy hire is a fun place and enjoyable workplace, great people to be around very character individuals. Enjoy going to work every day with a lot of confidence throughout the day with structural ongoing partnership great managers throughout the business. I have picked up on a lot of different things within the job, up to now i have learned alot being on the road everyay, within the early mornings in the city centre, to birmingham and lots of other locations throughout the north west region.

Spent 3 weeks at depot before my induction cse,was not allow to drive or load the vans.
Had a week in Leeds being feed corporate bull how good the company was and how valued drivers are, under statement of the year you are a small cog in the speedy empire, benefits or should i say vouchers,no over time paid, expected to do longer hrs if required and no incentive to these extra hrs.
On all a very negative company to work for, profit is there main concern....peace out
