Senior Accountant (Former Employee) – Jarrow, Tyne and Wear – 18 May 2018
Typical day producing financial date, liaise with managers and non financial people and give explanation of numbers and strategies and decision making. Working for this company widened my experience of the public sector however having worked for several diversified business sectors I was able to bring other concepts to the organisation. There was a decent management team who were passionate on what the company was doing as it intensified peoples lives making them better. Workplace culture goal driven for positive reasons with employees being respected and encouraged to achieve those goals. It would possibly fall into Hardy's definition of a role culture. Most difficult part of role was encouraging long term employees who had no experience from elsewhere to look at different, concepts, ideas, models and processes. Once a piece of work had been completed it was given positive reviews and used but at times certain employees went back to what they had always done. If it works don't changed it however I encouraged peoples input so it was their contribution to new ways of thinking so as to get the most out of changes and move to areas such as best practice. Enjoyable working in two sites and getting involved in all areas and disciplines of the business. Satisfaction gained to adding value in various areas.
