Wireman (Former Employee) –  Chippenham, Wiltshire12 April 2018
start at 15-30pm,on the yard, wiring an REB(Relocateable Equipment Building)finish at 11-00pm.Not much to learn, just a tipical day.You only see the managment once or twice a day because they know your capable of doing your job unsupervised. The workplace can be sometimes small and difficult to work in.the hardest part of the job is the space.the best part is being left alone to get the job done.
Pros
work uninterupted
Cons
late shift hours

Intern, Entry Level Talent (Current Employee) –  Lincoln, Lincolnshire28 March 2018
My business unit was nothing like the corporation culture is globally. This was a shame as I felt assimilated to a culture that was not shared by the organisation but by the MD of the site.

The days were not great as I didn't have enough to do for most of the days. I tried to involve myself with other managers to get more workload but this was not appreciated.
Pros
Flexitime
Cons
not enough to do, poor career prospects for interns

The management are very good and have the employees interest at heart when support is required.

Job security is almost non exsistent
Wind Turbine Technician (Current Employee) –  Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear28 February 2018
I’ve worked for siemens as a travel tech for nearly 3 years now, it started out great. Pay rises every year, nice Christmas bonus. Then the merger with Gamesa happened and it’s all downhill from there. Pay has decreased, hours long and weeks away from home with constant meetings saying everyone will lose their jobs. 6000 people have been made redundant and it isn’t stopping there, they let go all the qualified workers and replace them with apprentices to save money, which eventually will be made redundant soon.
Pros
If you make it so far up the career ladder the money is good
Cons
Job security doesn’t exist, starting salary is poor, long work hours

Avoid at any cost!
Administrator (Former Employee) –  Poole, Dorset27 February 2018
Management incompetency is very high. They will keep changing your job title to make sure you won’t get pay increase and will give you pathetic explanations for that with more workload until you rach breakup point.
If you are not one of their friends, you won’t get promoted.
They will make up development plan for you that means absolutely nothing! They won’t care about your struggles in personal life and will take a disciplinary action against you for anything that is convenient to them.
Pros
Great place to waste your life.
Cons
You won’t be able to pay your bills and get yourself in debt.

Wellbeing promoted from the top
Administrator (Former Employee) –  Frimley, Surrey11 February 2018
Siemens is a family friendly company, which encourages homeworking as well as a big push on employee wellbeing.

This flexibility on homeworking and work around family is a huge plus, but salaries are pretty poor for those not on the Management salaries, even though you are doing critical tasks for the good of the company.
Pros
Family friendly
Cons
Salary not competitive for those on the lower payscale doing critical tasks

Its okay but nothing more.
ANON' (Current Employee) –  Poole10 February 2018
In all honesty, its awful. The work load is always increasing and the pay never follows suit. I don't know why but Siemens has a habit of not paying its employees equally in regards to the job. Instead they wiggle around things by changing job titles to keep employee pay low. With that said, i have learned nothing that would be useful to take away and use in another job. The hardest part of the job is the hours, majority is shift work and the hours are ungodly. The most enjoyable part of the job is when management isn't in the office because they just bring the overall morale down every time and the hardest part is the workload and pay, by far. When you join, listen to your colleagues, if they complain all the time about the work, role, management etc..., chances are you will too within 1 months time and be wishing you didn't take their offer which in no doubt you will realise it was all "smoke and mirrors".
Pros
None.
Cons
Loads of cons.
