Its ok if you prefer not to be able to progress.
If youre happy with 15.000 then yes its good.
The teams do have their outings and they can make you feel like youte part of them, but then there are some that make the atmosphere cold.
Pros
Team outings
Cons
Resourcing for TFL

Must be carefull !
I wish I never had to end up writing bad reviews to companies, however they stolen 4 hours off a single shift, regardless of the horrible financial situation I'm in, puerile reasons - well I have been late to work because they failed to organise a working van and I got penalised for it now even though that happened months ago and all this without any notice !
Judge this single fact alone ( I won't list others ) and pull the conclusion yourselves. I do understand you won't find many people of valour in the rail industry, but the attitudes can be deceiving, things can be done so much better than this !. Imagine being 6 hours late for work due to the companies fault and you being penalised after you waited to get picked up. Trust them !?

Stressful lies and more lies
The problem with Shorterm is the management tells lies all the time unless u suck up to them
One is a alcoholic who never answers is phone because he's had to much to drink never in the office because he's got a hangover from the drinking

Give the vans to the favourite

They'll take u of the job and put there joe's and tell you the jobs finished then you'll have no work for months
Pros
Lies lies
Cons
Don't trust the management lies

Avoid like the plague
No communication from shorterm who could be summarised as liers & blaggers, basically zero hour contract with no assurance of job security, consistant lay offs. Despite the calibre of the workforce they look to employ the work as a vehicle builder is in itself unrewarding & menial
Pros
Non come to mind, salary was ok, I’ve earnt more
Cons
Too many to list, look elsewhere

Bad
Working here was demoralising and basically hard to do because management made life impossible withere favrioutising with certain employees and the lack of effort they put in to you personally

Good company
Good company to work for . Work hard and they will look after you as best they can. Contract work but if you put in hard work you will get regular contracts

vehicle builder derby (bombardier)
Lots of lies fro this company, especially about your wage, which turns out to be about 50% of what they promised. the work isn't stable in any way so expect to be not working for a lot of the time. I got told to turn up to work one day, but got sent home before i got to the clocking in machine.
Pros
work is interesting
Cons
all of the lies

Not to be trusted
Careful with what is advertised and promised. Get things written in the contract very clearly before taking the job. Wishy washy words in the contract that do not protect the employee will come to bite you in the future. Client where job is based not to be trusted either. BE VERY CAREFUL.
Pros
None
Cons
Commercial view overrides ethical values; untrustworthy.

Alright rail company
They kept me in constant work during mid week and weekends. They only give out vans to their favourite workers but the work was local so it wasn't to bad to travel in own vehicle

Busy work place
Busy work place some awkward members of staff and shift work isn't very great there is variation between my jobs but it does become very repetitive and certain members of staff are favourite by being personal friends to management outside the workplace
Pros
Paid breaks

Long hours

Organised workplace
A very busy site with many things taking place at once, however it was all very well managed. When I first arrived on site my duties varied from filling to sanding and painting. Towards the end of my time on site my duties changed to installing fittings and flooring. My co-workers were very friendly, respectful and easy to for with. For me the hardest part of the job was the filling and sanding because it was very tiring and strenuous. The most enjoyable part of the job was installing fittings and painting.
Pros
Very close to home. Good pay.
Cons
Short lunch break.
