Worked part time 5-7pm went round all sites making sure staff had all they needed to carry out their duties, also covered any absence, management was supportive, all staff were great to work with friendly atmosphere, enjoyed all aspects of the job
To work in an environment where you feel respected is a breath of fresh air, the management style is amazing. You are pushed and tested sometime, however you are always thanked and rewarded. The staff are brilliant and all jell really well and this helps for a better work/social experience. This is a very fair company to work for and I mean this as, you will only get out of it what you put in.
I enjoyed working for Servicemaster Newbury for 2 years.
The MD and Senior management were excellent in the care of all staff.
Training of staff was great.
Unlike most cleaning companys we had all supplies and paid correctly.
The company are very flexible, understanding and promote a calm but professional work environment. The management team are lovely, approachable and attentive. The salary is competitive for the job, and I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for part time work.
started off good then it all changed with new supervisor ,then it was no gloves(had to use the clients gloves or could not clean) or cleaning products for 3 months after texting every week they finally came (had to quote h&s at work act to them IE remind the supervisor that they are personally liable)and they still didn't keep me supplied with gloves or cleaning products as of the last day i worked for them 2 months no cleaning products or gloves they are a joke
Work colleagues are ok management is poor and are very strict and some teachers are ok you have your own area to clean and hardly any one helps plus the supervisor always checking on you and interferes all the time
Complaints about anything at work place from management, staff treated under pressure, mostly rely on the public transport to get to work.
Hours of work poorly, hard work for some, not treating staff 50 /50 at work at all...
Not a good job or company to work for. Hours and pay isn’t worth it, no pay slips and they mess up your wage and don’t get your money on time. Get paid on 5th working day which doesn’t suit with people’s bills. Supervisor isnt suited for the job, bosses don’t listen and only care about things being perfect rather than their staff. Too much expected in a short space of time.
a typical day at work, following the same pattern of cleaning. Only you might had to be at beck and call as the client you serviced always took that light bit more from service master in terms of jobs and what was excepted of you to do.
If it snowed they still called you in, think it went that if nobody was in the office then you didn't have to work.
Minimal hours, very heavy work if you’re anywhere with a kitchen. Minimum wage is nowhere near enough as you nearly break your back trying to keep on their good side! They will ask you to drive miles to other sites which wasn’t to bad other than the fact it was about 30 mile each way, they did pay petrol for 1 week out of the two I went to the other site so ended up pulling out of my own pocket. Will sack you on the spot for something trivial without a warning, they will say they’ll give you a warning but they don’t. As long As you jump when they say you’re fine.
My typical day is cleaning offices, including hoovering, dusting. mopping, cleaning kitchen area and polishing.
I have learned time management and how to work alone.
Management have been great and very supportive.
Hardest part of job is getting up at five thirty in the morning.
I enjoying working in a quite environment and leaving the premises looking clean and tidy.
