I worked for Screwfix wincanton in stafford through the best connection. The work can be quite hard at times, but they do swap you around from place to place so you dont get too bored. The money on nights was great and the canteen/facillities are exellent! However even though the best connection is the best agency I have ever worked for I did get laid off for having 4 days off in a row due to getting a nasty virus. I cant blame them though as I wasnt there long. Overall though, in comparison to Tesco and Amazon Screwfix is the best by miles! If you are not frightened of a little work then I can say this is a great job with lots of benefits when taken on full time.
Subsidised canteen, acheivable targets, safe and clean work

Really good place to work. Training whenever needed and also advancements really good. Good pension. And I like working for screwfix. Parts of the management good. But new shift patterns finding hard to deal with
It is a boring warehouse job. It is so monotonous that you disconnect your brain. I learn how to use a LLO that is maybe the only one advantage. The hardest part of the job is to be walking 8h pushing a heavy trolley.

This used to be a good place to work, however over the last 2years, there are new managers, they treat people like dirt. Couldn't care less about staff, always on at you to do more! Staff are leaving all the time, 44 staff left this company in August 2017. They now have to employ agency staff, lots of them. From what I've seen they too are treated badly, always leaving. The only positive about this place is the pay. Constant security searches at the end of shift, that's after you have managed to clock off, which takes ages. Do not go for a job here.
Cant think of any
Managers. Treated like dirt. Lots of foreign staff, lots of agency staff.
Treat employees like school children. Abusive managers Disorganised HR and Payroll departments Aggressively driven to work harder yet told to be safe. Do not listen to employees Only care about figures Ridiculous turn over of staff Unhelpful in all aspects Unrealistic targets - Based on items picked.(Pickers can't choose their orders)
A good place to work with overtime available when needed. Very good incentives available for all staff and family members. Supports local charities and events too. Different shift patterns to suit people's needs also.
A typical day at work is to be very organised and motivated for the fast paced environment. Planning the week, the day even the hour. Managing all members of staffs productivity and conduct as well as their personal requirements. Attending meetings and redeploying staff when required. I have learned a lot about people management in terms of conduct and disciplinary procedures and operational structure . Management team is very good and work together excellently as well as the culture being communicational and mutually respectful. Hardest part of the job is personal problem solving as it can be very tough but I am professional and deal with it well. Love working in a team and working with a lot of different people and characters.

Managers walking around like in prisont , didnt let you work proply .Always under pressure . No improvment , no courses and futher future . Good salary , some overtime hours available and always paid on time .
Typical day at work is no job rotation, same job everyday no difference to everyday duties. I learned a lot about the WMS and the operations of the company. Management were reactive not pro-active. The most difficult part of the job was morale. Most enjoyable was the people I work with
Cheap canteen occasional good benefit or discount offer
