The managers don't communicate! Not a place for a career but okay for a temporary solution. KPIs are ridiculous. Not a relaxed work environment at all!
Pros

Early days but loving it!
Warehouse Person (Current Employee) –  Trentham, Staffordshire15 August 2018
I recently started here and feel like I have been there for ages. I have never worked for a large employer and it seemed daunting at first...for a few days, but it's like one big family. The health and safety aspect is very strict and makes everyone feel secure. The employee screening seems excellent, DBS is required, I feel like I'm working with people I can trust. If you like to work hard, are open and honest, and want to support good charitable causes, then this is ideal.
Pros
Excellent health and Safety, friendly, honest, environment
Cons
None so far

Hardwork, but clean and well run
Picker/Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) –  Stafford, Staffordshire23 April 2018
I worked for Screwfix wincanton in stafford through the best connection. The work can be quite hard at times, but they do swap you around from place to place so you dont get too bored. The money on nights was great and the canteen/facillities are exellent! However even though the best connection is the best agency I have ever worked for I did get laid off for having 4 days off in a row due to getting a nasty virus. I cant blame them though as I wasnt there long.
Overall though, in comparison to Tesco and Amazon Screwfix is the best by miles! If you are not frightened of a little work then I can say this is a great job with lots of benefits when taken on full time.
Pros
Subsidised canteen, acheivable targets, safe and clean work
Cons
Usual agency gripes, repetative work

Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) –  Stafford, Staffordshire9 November 2017
The work is easy and the salary is good. However the work is tedious. The most enjoyable part of the job is clocking out. And the hardest part of the job is staying there for 8 hours.
Pros
good salery
Cons
night shifts

Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) –  Stafford, Staffordshire23 October 2017
It is a boring warehouse job. It is so monotonous that you disconnect your brain. I learn how to use a LLO that is maybe the only one advantage. The hardest part of the job is to be walking 8h pushing a heavy trolley.
Pros
good salary, good people
Cons
difficult pick rates

Awful place to work
Warehouse Team Member (Current Employee) –  Stafford15 October 2017
This used to be a good place to work, however over the last 2years, there are new managers, they treat people like dirt. Couldn't care less about staff, always on at you to do more! Staff are leaving all the time, 44 staff left this company in August 2017. They now have to employ agency staff, lots of them. From what I've seen they too are treated badly, always leaving. The only positive about this place is the pay. Constant security searches at the end of shift, that's after you have managed to clock off, which takes ages. Do not go for a job here.
Pros
Cant think of any
Cons
Managers. Treated like dirt. Lots of foreign staff, lots of agency staff.

Treat employees like school children.
Abusive managers
Disorganised HR and Payroll departments
Aggressively driven to work harder yet told to be safe.
Do not listen to employees
Only care about figures
Ridiculous turn over of staff
Unhelpful in all aspects
Unrealistic targets - Based on items picked.(Pickers can't choose their orders)

Some staff are nice.

Worked on two departments. Trained well. A few managers and supervisors were a bit beyond belief and were well disliked but the regular staff made the shifts good.

Very effiecient and motivational
Warehouse Manager/Assistant Shift Manager (Current Employee) –  Stafford, Staffordshire29 June 2017
A typical day at work is to be very organised and motivated for the fast paced environment. Planning the week, the day even the hour. Managing all members of staffs productivity and conduct as well as their personal requirements. Attending meetings and redeploying staff when required. I have learned a lot about people management in terms of conduct and disciplinary procedures and operational structure . Management team is very good and work together excellently as well as the culture being communicational and mutually respectful. Hardest part of the job is personal problem solving as it can be very tough but I am professional and deal with it well. Love working in a team and working with a lot of different people and characters.
