They asked me if I can make a decent round of toast
I've seen two people interviewed at our store. First five minutes were standard retail questions The rest of the time was completely irrelevant to the job and even included questions like "do you make a good tea?".
The interview starts in the usual way talking about your CV, your previous work experience and then why you want to work for Screwfix. Then it becomes very much a general retail interview - "Tell me about a time when you had to work with someone else to achieve a goal" etc
Usual retail based questions;
What can you bring to the company? what can you work? what previous experience?
Answered - Store Assistant (Current Employee) - Loughborough
Competency based questions. Experiences in retail and customer service based questions. If you are applying for a sales assistant you don't need to research the company. Only applies to management.
Typical retail based question
Answered - Assistant Manager (Former Employee) - St. Neots, UK
They will ask what you know about the company. So research
