Was a long term temp for 8 1/2 years before being made permanent so no proper job interview. At time of leaving, process was panel interview with presentation. Learnt a lot of knew skills, just wish management (graduates/inexperienced) wasn't so rubbish at managing personnel. Job security is not great either - my department along with many other admin functions were being outsourced at time of leaving. Head count is kept to a minimum so some roles will be filled by the same temp for years. However, love the people, Korean culture and food and loved the business for the most part. It is hard work, but like that Samsung can move quickly to get things done and does try hard to foster community spirit within the workplace. However, be advised that Koreans are dominant in the business and all major business decisions will have to go through Korean management.
Learn new skills, cuturally diverse, standard corporate package: pension contributions, salary sacrafice, subsidised canteen, free staff bus to and from Weybridge station, plus more
Long hours, graduate/inexperienced managers, culturally diverse
Manager that interview was on drugs and drunk, No induction and no plan of training, in the franchise Samsung shop it’s not what you know it’s who you know. If the manage like you then you get the job or you not. Also they pick and choose how they want to treat you. The manager took her friend and gave special treatment. Other people if they don’t like you treat you like very unprofessional. If you ask for any thing in writing from the manager or HR, you don’t get any thing but they get rid of you because of probation period. This is the loop hole they use. Other staff came drunk, made a lot of mistake never did any thing to them. When you bring this to the manager attention they give you threats that they will get rid of you. They make fake mistake up and the HR team are so really bad they don’t listen to staff and they get rid of you. They gave us a staff survey to fill in any thing wrong you write in there another way to get rid of you. They manager are really doggy in the Samsung shop. If you not like one of them mean drink, and going out party with then you are not part of the team. There was a guy that nick some phone but because he was one of there own did not do any thing to him. Same on this Samsung shop and the director and manager or PRSI would never recommend any one to work in this unprofessional Samsung shop as this is not Samsung direct. Worse place to work.
- Poor Treatment, unprofessional managers, no benefits
Supporting and assisting customers with mobile phone, tablet and wearable issues, both in and out of warranty. Also providing support and tutorials for customers that need it. Managing and developing myself team members into future higher management within the company, learning about all the devices and the company along the way. Hardest challenge is dealing with customer expectations and upset due to their device not working, but also most enjoyable when you are able to return their device to them in a lot shorter time than their expectation.
Working with latest technology, staff benefits and progression
As a young adult I would like to have time for social life and football. When working in Chester it is very hard to accomplish that as I wake up at 7 am and get home at 7 pm on average.
Long hours, short breaks, low oay
We want to help you find great companies. Help us be the best!

Samsung can be a challenge and there are 2 cultures to learn, the European and the Korean. Many people get frustrated due to inability to work with the Korean culture which can seem illogical and hierarchical. However, the culture also has its plus points as the pace of movement is fast. I loved my time at Samsung, you just have to accept certain frustrations around hierarchy and processes and gain the trust of the Koreans through starting with small wins and growing from there.
Benefits are excellent
Hierarchy and working environment are not what you would expect of leading tech company
It is a good company with lot of focus on innovate work. Have got chance to work in lot of newer technologies. The management of the company tries to encourage and get the best result for innovative solution.
A good pay with good benefits
Excellent organisation to be able to work within. Highly innovative products and a driven forward thinking culture of individuals. The greatest learning comes from working for a channel based organisation, whereby you need to be able to utilise a large network of customers, colleagues, resellers, distributes, systems integrators and unique partners. Excellent people skills and self marketing is vital. The hardest part of the role but equally the most exciting is the innovative products and change is direction. You must be willing to be agile and easily able to respond to change in this organisation. Its not for the faint hearted! The most enjoyable part of the job is the constant learning of new products, markets, ways of working, forward thinking products and also the solutions that can layer over the hardware to truly bring it to life.
Discounted lunch, lovely offices, good salary package, good home work balance
Can have long hours, can be stressful if you're not able to deal with fast paced change
