Awful
Care Assistant (Former Employee) –  Shipston on Stour7 October 2019
Management was horrendous, other carers were allowed to get away with being lazy whilst making the younger people do all of the work. Carers were expected to do everything from getting everybody up in the morning to giving out meal, loading the dishwashers, doing the cleaning and everything a carer shouldn’t be doing BECAUSE ITS NOT IN THEIR CONTRACT. Don’t work there

Bad owners
Care Assistant (Former Employee) –  Doncaster19 September 2019
All the staff are amazing and caring. The manager is good and friendly. The problem is it’s under staffed, only 2 care assistants on days when you can have up to 23 residents who are all demanding in there own way. On nights your on your own 1 carer and 1 senior carer, in other homes there’s 2 carers and 1 senior. Clients are often confused and aggressive.

Flexible and s good home to work.
Health Care Assistant (Former Employee) –  Rayleigh, Essex3 September 2019
Runwood is a very good home to work and are flexible and very accommodative to non experience staff. They also do in house training and sponsored staff to do their Health and Social Care Diploma up to Level five.
Runwood has been voted best care home for the past few years and have earned a good reputation throughout voted Good Home by the CQC. Ig.mmymoskill

Nightmare company
Former employee (Former Employee) –  Doncaster24 July 2019
Many of the staff have a can’t be arsed attitude.
Ask more of you than what you can provide and even when you do provide they still aren’t happy. Days and night staff battle against each other with a lot of two faced workers.
Quality of care is shocking.
Don’t order the essentials because the budget isn’t big enough so residents are not receiving the care they need!

Avoid working for this company
Manager (Former Employee) –  Doncaster, South Yorkshire9 July 2019
As a manager working for 3 years for this company not by choice but by tupe transfer I was left feeling undervalued and opinion less
Poor support terrible blame culture 7 regional managers in the past 18 months no idea about individuals with dementia no support to enable a manager to support a team to deliver dignity compassion and tailor the care around choice and control for older people
Ignored when you use the systems to ask for staffing to support the service leaving vulnerable people even more vulnerable a company that’s stuck in the 80s getting bigger and bigger with no infrastructure or vision or ability to meet individuals needs
Reactive company rather than proactive made the decision to leave the company not the job as I felt it was morally wrong to work for a company that are unable to provide the tools needed to do a job
Pros
The lovely residents
Cons
Every thing else

Kitchen Assistant (Former Employee) –  Ware, Hertfordshire2 July 2019
Like all places it can be a great company to work for as long as you get on with the superior people as in managers!! Fully rewarding working with the elderly it is the residents that make you want to go to work and definitely not the company! Found my time there like a family until new manager came and was just rude horrible and really ungrateful for anything. Puts a smile on for cqc on unexpected visits like butter wouldn't melt but in reality was not very caring to staff or residents, sad really when you talking about a care company. To all people who work for runwood "THE CLUES IN THE NAME-CARE"

Naturally I declined the non existent position.

Unit Manager (Current Employee) –  Watford, Hertfordshire31 March 2019
With it being a private care provider sometimes the needs of the business and care are not always top priority not that this reflects in the cate that's given bit sometimes It cam interfer in finance being made available for activity and fun for the residents I realise that budgets have to be meet but in our opinion the budgets could be a little higher .
Pros
No real perks other than greaf people in the home amd a good working environments

Opportunities, Support and Amazing Care
Deputy Manager (Former Employee) –  Nottinghamshire5 February 2019
I have recently left Runwood Homes after working for them for three years in two of their Nottinghamshire homes. The homes I worked in were both lovely places to be, the care staff were incredible and it was always a pleasure to go to work and see happy residents, which is why we all do what we do at the end of the day.

The company as a whole is a very large organization which has some truly amazing individuals in it's ranks, right from carers to directors, and working for Runwood has always been a pleasure because of those people.

The training that Runwood offers is comprehensive and the Dementia Services Team are a well needed and forward thinking resource, though it sometimes felt that higher management underappreciated their strength and the value of the support they offer to the homes.

Career progression opportunities are there for the taking and training is provided and offered to further progress individuals.
The support from Head Office is amazing and I can honestly say that the staff in HR and payroll are a huge support and help to those in Admin and Management roles.

One negative I have is the lack of consistency in regional management, having had at least 6 in the three years I have worked there. (This is not to say that any of them weren't good at what they did.)

All in all, Runwood are a good company to work for. The support is there and the company has tried and tested systems and procedures in place to ensure good care delivery is paramount within the homes and staff wellbeing is supported. I loved my time at Runwood and if I hadn't have been
more... so impatient, wanting to take the next step in my career right now, I would still be there.  less
Pros
Career progression opportunities, Support from Head Office, Training and Development, Rewarding, Dementia Services Support, Amazing Carers.
Cons
Lack of consistency with Regional Support.
