Having contracted for close on two years for RS I can honestly say it was the most pleasant working environment I have experienced. The staff are all great team players, management good and they believe in their company and forward progression.

Not a bad place to work. Fairly flexible and relaxed environment. You'll have a good work life balance, which is important to everyone.
Can be challenging when even management do not want to follow defined procedures or processes.

It's on a fascinating journey of cultural and digital transformation which has led to real momentum in its share price

Advice

Keep doing what you are doing. Perhaps try to promote more people from within RS. If you have time, have some 1-1to find out more about people's issues don't ignore it.
Pros
RS at the heart of current trends (AI, robotics, mobile, 3D printing, Big Data)
Cons
Some strange promotion decisions for employees

RS is a great place to work, feels like a family (in fact, it is often literally family members working together!). Additional benefits such as childcare, healthcare, legal advice, pension are useful.

However, every year there seems to be another re-structure with more uncertainty and jobs put at risk. I've seen so many people come and go which is a shame. Management are always striving to recruit new talent without realising the talent they have in-house!

Salaries are very underpaid compared to the rest of the market (apparently the available benefits make up the difference but if you don't use them, then you're just underpaid!)
Pros
Benefits e.g. healthcare, flexible working
Cons
Salaries are underpaid and constant re-structures
