Royal London work hard to attract the best talent for our award winning team. We believe that embracing difference makes us stronger and this is core to our employee proposition and people promise we focus on creating an inclusive, responsible, enjoyable and fulfilling environment where we give everyone the opportunity to contribute, grow and develop, – more...build great relationships and deliver great things for our customers and each other, we want our people to feel empowered and inspired to make a difference. This has helped us grow into the largest mutual life, pensions and investment company in the UK with group funds under management of £106 billion. Our businesses provide around 9.0 million policies. And we have over 3000 employees across 6 sites in the UK and Ireland. (Figures quoted are as at 30 June 2017).
Since 1861, when Royal London was founded in a London coffee shop, plenty has changed (although the popularity of coffee shops remains undiminished). First we were a friendly society then a mutual insurance company. We started out by helping people to avoid the stigma of a pauper's grave. We have been helping people to help themselves ever since.
To achieve our vision of becoming the most trusted and recommended financial company in the UK, we need to have a shared understanding not only of where we're going and why - – but how we're going to get there. This is where our culture and values come in. The specialist businesses that make up the Royal London Group are clearly positioned within their markets and our goal is to provide innovative solutions that match the needs of distribution partners and customers.
