Great place to work, but a problem from the moment you mention you have children.

"We don 't know if you 'll be able to commit to the job because you have children."

Administrator (Current Employee) –  London Borough of Camden, Greater London30 March 2017
Deal with referrals that has been sent the day before, print them all off from our system(IRRIS). Triage them into whats urgent, routine and planned. Book appointments, deals with emails, queries, phone calls from Doctors, GPS, patients and other Hospitals etc.
Liaise with work colleagues inform Physiologist of patient delays and also keeping them up to date with the running of the clinics.

Hardest part of the job is dealing with extremely difficult patient on a day to day basis which at times have nothing to do with our department.

The most enjoyable part of my job is great all patient with a welcoming smile and helping them with what ever necessity to make them feel as comfortable as possible while waiting for there appointment.
Pros
flexibility to get coffee and snack in between work.
Cons
not long enough lunch break

Inpatient Ward Admin Team Leader (Former Employee) –  Hampstead17 February 2017
Royal Free is a great employer - if you are good at what you do, professional, presentable and have the right attitude, there is certainly room for progression.

It has a great work ethos /workplace culture and actively encourage staff to engage in their 'Well-Being' program. Excellent Gym facilities, Staff group walks on Hampstead, Soccer Teams, Netball, Yoga, Choir etc. the list goes on!

Royal Free also have a fantastic 'Investing in People' Policy - if you have the desire, the right attitude and an excellent manager behind you, you can progress quite quickly.

Nursing Assistant (Current Employee) –  London, Greater London8 December 2016
Doctors, nurses and medical treatment is excellent, however you can not advance your career unless you are 'lucky'.

Work life balance is good but only dependent on where you work otherwise the 12.5hr mixture of days and nights could exhaust you.

UCLH and Imperial are much better towards their staff.
Pros
Some of the best doctors and nurses in the world
Cons
Keep looking for another trust, will make things difficult and ignore you when you complain.

Nurse (Former Employee) –  London15 August 2016
This job is internal no competition available here. I have the skill and experience but they intend to offer it to someone who works for them. The job should not be advertised with this intension. The job is so specialised its unlikely anyone can apply at the RFH not in this field. If it was a fixed term contract, rather than internal, more people could apply.
Pros
local large hospital
Cons
no opportunity to apply for this jobs
