Technical Support Engineer (Current Employee) – East Midlands Airport – 2 March 2015
This was a challenging role to begin with as I had never encountered some of the airport technologies before such as CCTV, XRAY, CEM to name a few but I picked things up quite quickly.
Once the basic role was learned there was always something to be done from projects to IT support and my supervisor managed the work between engineers quite well.
The most enjoyable part of the job was fixing challenging IT issues and getting recognition for this. The least enjoyable thing was being on call and getting called to the airport once you had just got home but luckily this didn't happen too often.
Left to own devices, average 40 hours a week
Out of hours calls sometimes, most colleague based in Manchester
