A great starting point when preparing for an interview with us is to carry out research on the role you are applying for and the company itself. We are an easily accessible company on the web and you will find plenty of resources on our multiple UK websites, our social media platforms, our blogs and articles, our financial reports and via press and PR releases. Don't just read up on facts and figures, find aspects that interest you and you can discuss with enthusiasm.
Some of our roles will ask competency-based questions, which should be given great thought before the interview. Our hints and tips page at the end of this answer can tell you all about what is and how to answer a competency-based question. We'll want to know why you want the job, as well as asking questions to make sure you both have the skills for the job and to fit the culture.
If you've prepared well, you can enter the interview room knowing you will get a warm reception immediately from our managers. We do our best to create an atmosphere which encourages you to perform at your best. You should be yourself, we aren't hiring another version of yourself who has answers scripted to the word, we are hiring you and we take a great interest in who you are.

What is the cost of the company car for somebody in field sales, and how does the petrol card and personal petrol use work?Asked 18 August 2018
The company car arrives on day one of your field sales position. It is free, you have a fuel card which you use for commuting and for travel around your field patch. Upon approval from your line manager, you can also use the car for personal use, the mileage of which you would expense back to us. The service and upkeep are paid for by the company.

Our typical process is to start with a telephone interview lasting 20-30 minutes, followed by a face-to-face competency interview and then a shadowing day for the role you have applied for. By this point, you should learn whether this role is right for you.
There will be some differences. For example, in a sales interview process, we will have a formal final stage as well as a shadowing day and also a psychometric test.

In your first year with the company, you are entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), provided by government services.
Once you have been with us for one year, you are entitled to Company Sick Pay (CSP), which protects you in a more rigorous way than SSP when you are in ill health.

There are a great many ways to apply for a job vacancy with Rentokil Initial. We post vacancies on a host of job boards, such as Indeed, Reed, Facebook Jobs, Glassdoor, LinkedIn Jobs and many more. We also encourage referrals from our colleagues, so if you know someone on the inside, you should most definitely speak to that person about being referred.
The key to making the first stage of interviews is to put plenty of effort into the CV you submit, making sure the information is clear and easy to read and displays the skills you have that are needed in our job vacancy.
If you have made a strong application, you will be offered a telephone interview. We will want to know why this job is important to you, that you have done some background research into the company and why you would be a good fit into our family atmosphere. This is completely dependent on the position you hold.
Service Drivers tend to have more flexible start times, geared towards an earlier day. Typically, 06.00-15.00.
Technicians will also have more flexible working hours, dependent on their customers. Typically, 08.30-17.00.
Sales teams and office staff have more set hours and will typically be 08.30-17.00.
