Don’t do it!
Quality Control Analyst (Former Employee) –  Nottingham, Nottinghamshire10 December 2019
Absolutely no progression from a lab worker perspective. Management are rude and patronising. They expect you to do more work than you have the hours for and expect you to work above your pay grade but have no intention of promoting you.
They’ll walk all over you if you let them, and if you’re not getting the shift allowance then the base salary is EXTREMELY poor.

Poor management, poor attitude towards staff
Manufacturing Technician (Former Employee) –  Nottingham, Nottinghamshire8 December 2019
They want dynamic people , but stifle anybody that shows the ability to think for themselves.
The managers abuse the seasonal working hours system, chopping and changing shifts at short notice,
They claim there is a no blame culture, until you do something wrong! If you stand up for yourself you are seen as disruptive. If you challenge anything your considered negative.
The pay is reasonable, but the politics for me made the job impossible.
If your not part of a clique, you will not survive
Pros
Pay and benefits package
Cons
Hopeless management

Breathtaking Incompetence
Manufacturing Technician (Current Employee) –  Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire26 November 2019
As jobs go it is fine but you will quickly realise that it’s a who you know type of place. Back stabbing is encouraged by leaders and managers. You will scratch your head and wonder how some people are qualified for their role.....they aren’t. The site has failed audits recently which shows a lack of quality and competency from the management. The ‘team’ of managers try and make life miserable for the shop floor

Although I enjoyed the work and the pay was good - the management were the worsted I’ve seen and seem to delight in making employees Feel miserable
Manufacturing technician/team leader (Former Employee) –  Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire20 November 2019
Great role, good pay, worst management & culture I’ve ever experienced. If I didn’t know better I’d think they deliberately set out to make employees work lives as miserable as possible. It’s a shame because I’ve heard it was brilliant when it was just Reckitts.

Team Leader (Current Employee) –  Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire13 November 2019
To clarify the Union Rep had all of his family (5 family members, what are the odds of that in the real world?) working at Hull Reckitts at one time or another. This shows how corrupt the management and unions are together. If you are friends with union or management you will get a job there and progress instantly.

Some of the managers have criminal records for severe crimes but HR and Management will turn the other cheek.....unless you challenge them or are from another town/city/country where you will swiftly become a target. The managers at RB would never be managers anywhere else as their basic character and ability is hugely questionable or basic.

There is no place like Hull Reckitts that is for sure. Do as I say not as I do. With all the investment you would think that they would invest in competent leaders.......nah

Lazy and Bad Culture
Team Member (Current Employee) –  Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire7 November 2019
culture in Hull Reckitts (team work, positive attitude, KPI's, leadership) is driven from the management down and it is very bad, with no people management only driven by fear from inadequate people. Divide and conquer is the slogan along with speed over perfection.subtle bullying from managers and leaders together. no quality through what I saw, even less from health and safety. Everything is swept under the carpet or not communicated up and down the chain. Very Very bad managers and place but good money. Probably not the correct employer for long term employment.

UAT Manager (Former Employee) –  Slough, Berkshire1 November 2019
Busy place of work, where some new starters realised in the first month that they could not handle the pace and departed.
Always lots to be done and never a dull moment.
Good job satisfaction if you can handle the workload and pace.

Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) –  Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire8 October 2019
No progression at Hull, its all about who you know here. HR and management are both as useless as each other, thought reviews were a little harsh when I joined but are absolutely justified as it is total madness throughout the factory.

Warehouse Team Member (Former Employee) –  Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire22 August 2019
Been there for 3 years as a warehouse team member. Tried to step up in a career ladder and been sucked for being to ambitious. Great salary package but management is a worst I ever worked with. Full time contract is constructed that way so they can withdraw it in any time and any reason.
Pros
Salary package
Cons
Poor management

Awful, terrible, an Indictment to Hull RB
Area Manager (Former Employee) –  Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire16 August 2019
A good example of a good manufacturing site gone very bad. Extremely high turn over of staff on shop floor (not managers though).

Shocking indictment to Hull RB. Worst employer in hull by a country mile.
Shocking language from the TOP level down, rude and insulting. Zero leadership behaviors, no performance management. Not in line with the business values Zero training in fact most managers just refer you to someone else or to the sister site Nottingham as they really have no clue.

Boys club culture who protect their own and scape goat those who are a threat or just need to protect their own incompetence, immature attitude from senior leaders and managers.

Vulgar language and sexual discrimination is common practice from men and women. 1980's culture.Meetings add no value, no minutes, half the time people don't turn up, no apologies, or spend the meeting on the internet via mobile.

Shocking HR record this year (19) alone. Raise issues yours fobbed off, in fact the offenders are rewarded.

Never met a single leader who inspired me or I respected. If your in the club you on the gravy train for life, if not good luck, you'll have to brown nose and take abuse weekly.

Incestuous, key people all related or friends outside of work or in some capacity so not a chance of progression. Really disappointing from such a globally known business. I expected much more.

Humiliation is rife day to day, as well a sly comments. Be polite and considerate and its taken for granted. Dress code is Poor, i don't mean poor dress code i mean they dress like they should have
more... ASBO's. Jeans/leggings and t-shirt is standard for leaders, who set ZERO example.

Zero communication daily, weekly, monthly cascaded top down ever to shop floor. No health and safety, no feedback, no targets, no KPI's.
Just poor poor management of personnel. They say speed over perfection. its actually chaos all the time. Top management does not care as long as the short term results are met. Only good reviews are those written by crooked fat management team at Hull.

SHAMBLES, NOT A PROGRESSIVE ACTIVE MANAGEMENT AT ALL.

Terrible place,Run by moulded idiots.
Whipping boy (Former Employee) –  Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire19 July 2019
At first i thought the hull site was ok.How wrong was i.After reading the reviews about this site i fully agree.Managers dont care about anyone but themselves. The team leaders are in the managers pocket and will not support you, they are scared they will upset management. They have been moulded by management like soft clay. The management reward the team leaders with dinner tickets to keep them fat and useless.Health and safety is ridiculous on the old side.hundreds of office and lab staff walking about glued to their phone screens. With no safety shoes,Hi vis or knowledge of a working site.Only perks are staff shop which is getting more expensive. And the canteen,When you can get in before the rat race.Everyone reports each other for the most minor things.Backstabbers galore.Stay away🙈

Lacks Competence, Quality, Leadership, basically it's Out of Control
Operator (Current Employee) –  Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire5 July 2019
My parents worked here for years and said it was a great family owned company. They now have young managers with no skills (very cheap to employ). No one seems to know what is going on or which direction to go in. No communication between teams, or from Managers to Leaders to shop floor. A few people wandering around with their chest puffed out and loads of back stabbing especially from management, it is encouraged by certain leaders.

Its changed from when my parents worked here, I would not recommend anyone work here after my experiences and what I have seen. Very bad name now in Hull.
Pros

extremely arrogant people who think they are above everyone

Drug Test Management Hull
Technician (Former Employee) –  Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire9 June 2019
It has been well known for some time that the managers in Hull Supply Manufacturing are drug users but they are protected by the gang culture and HR.

Hull appreciates weak management as it can be well manipulated by the Site Operations Manager (who states if you don’t like it you can fluck out the gate) they hate being challenged by good people or good managers. If you are either the clock is ticking on your P45.

Terrible stories of toxic directors/managers/leaders coming out from most individuals who have worked here. Surprised local media has not picked up on this.
Cons
Hypocritical managers, long overdue change in managers/directors.

Finance Manager (Former Employee) –  Slough, Berkshire7 June 2019
I worked in finance and i know the experience would vary from team to team but I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. There's a horrible environment of management wanting you to be scared of them, which is unproductive. Also, there's an arrogance that somehow you're the best of the best to be there, whereas in reality, you're in an office in Slough.
Pros
sorry I don't have any
Cons
Long hours, negative environment
