Since leaving RBS I realise how bad it was.
Security Analyst (Former Employee) –  Leicestershire19 February 2020
Many other companies are so much better in all aspects. The tech used is old and there's an obvious feel that they're trying to save money at every corner. But at the cost of security, salaries and benefits. People being made redundant regularly, and contractors being hired on the cheap to perform roles that were clearly permanent roles. If you grow up in RBS you'll find that the job you end up doing there will be worth double or more to a company that has money.

Slowly downhill
Service request analyst (Former Employee) –  Kegworth, Leicestershire3 January 2020
First couple of years were ok but everything downhill from there. Poor wage as a contractor. No benefits. Office politics, heavy favouritism by my Team Leader who also was not a very nice person. Analysts preferred on how Likeable and close/friendly they were with management and not by merit. The situation in my department had become very dire as people’s jobs were at risk due to lack of work.

Good place to work offering excellent work life balance. Salary offered lower than other banks operating within the area. Lack of security due to restraints.

Either very good or very bad. No in between.
Analyst (Former Employee) –  Sussex28 October 2019
Very flexible working in some departments. Decent salary for appointed levels even outside of london. Change, in terms of team moves and work content, happens quickly and seemingly for little reason. Getting improvements to systems or processes takes a very long time if it happens at all. Mid exec level and up are on the same page when it comes to equality, lower management, not so much. Discrimination against women was apparent and often unchallenged. A mixed bag.

Senior Personal Banker (Former Employee) –  Manchester City Centre, Greater Manchester16 October 2019
Management was good- quite effective communication.
The role itself was very stressful and you don't really get enough breaks to recharge.
The pay was good and increases yearly.

Learned many new skills and developed existing ones. There are many employee benefits. Depending on where you work, work life balance can be challenging.

Fab place to work
Senior Corporate Manager (Former Employee) –  Birmingham, West Midlands30 September 2019
Management is very flexible, work life balance is top of the list and support is always available. Career advancement is available should you wish to go down that route. People are very nice to work with and the work atmosphere is always very welcoming.
Could not recommend RBSG enough - fabulous place to work at with plenty of benefits.

It was a place where one can find satisfaction of work and their life hand in hand. RBS treated me very well and the work was organised in the best manner. Staff and support was immense helpful and even the salary was upto the mark. Job satisfaction is what i can relate to RBS

Well paid for the local area
Deputy Manager (Current Employee) –  Greenock, Inverclyde1 September 2019
Lacks management skills, no development opportunities unless willing to travel over 60 miles.
The pay is good, but should be higher for the volume of work agents have to do.
A manager and deputy are the same in roles yet there is a £10,000+ pay gap.
Pros
Good salary for local area
Cons
Management, workload, training
