No flexible working.
RMN (Former Employee) –  Cheadle3 March 2018
no Flexible hours for staff with childcare problems from working night shifts weekends etc. Had to leave due ward to not considering flexible hours. Managers are not bothered as they can choose their own hours and office staff can easily get child care as working 9-5, it’s the nurses and healthcare assistants that struggle and have to leave their career when they have children or become a carer.
Cons
Night shifts weekend shifts

Poor Management
Recovery Support Worker (Former Employee) –  Kingston upon Hull19 February 2018
I suffered at this workplace having never worked in Mental Health before. I was given supervision hours that were meant to provide support however they were just cynical and judgmental and didn't want to adapt me to their working environment.
Management rather than helping and putting time and effort in decided to end my probationary period.

The workplace ethic was poor with minimum staff wanting residents to get better. Management cares more about the cost of things than the wellbeing of the residents.
The job its self was manageable around your daily life habits, and lunch and tea was provided which compensated for the poor pay.

The stress the management caused however wasn't worth it.
Pros
Free Food
Cons
Poorly Managed

Education lead (Former Employee) –  Wales14 February 2018
Officially it’s a caring company- the reality is quite the opposite. No regard for staff welfare; no interest in what is best for the children- the bottom line is the only thing that matters to them.
Pros
No real monitoring
Cons
Ruthless and uncaring management; nepotism; liars

terrible company avoid!!!
Support Worker (Former Employee) –  Weldon, Northamptonshire7 February 2018
Terrible place to work.
Management didn't know how to run a team, incompetent, lacked knowledge & experience for service users needs.
Serious bullying culture (within the whole team including management) on a 12 hour day shift took its toll on me & unfortunately becoming ill from working here. My initial enthusiasm for the job very quickly turned into misery as it didn't mix well with constant negativity, refusal to share limited work which developed into highly competitive staff, gossiping about other team members & personal verbal attacks from unstable staff members.
Poor pay, toxic environment & if your desperate for work STILL avoid this company as its worse than being unemployed.

The service user was lovely and made the job the only part worth getting up in the morning for.
Pros
the service user
Cons
bullying, poor pay, toxic environment

The most enjoyable part is spending time off site with residents and on trips with them.
Pros
4 days on 4 days off. 5.5 weeks holiday
Cons

Alright
Support Worker - Night Staff (Former Employee) –  Tamworth4 February 2018
I enjoyed the job overall.
The hours weren't a good balance with my general life as i had to sleep throughout the day so i could stay awake during my 12.5 hour night shift.
I felt that the residential house where i was located was very disorganised as I personally had very minimal and insufficient training for the job.
Pros
Fun
Cons
When residents don't like someone they try to get rid of them

Support Worker (Former Employee) –  Falkirk,1 February 2018
Would not recommend to even my worst enemy a company full of false promise and would happily shoot you in back , huge staff turnover , will tell you will get 1:3 weekend off but will work easily 5-6 weekends on , short staffed all over , place almost faced closure from care commission ... suggest check there reviews on there website , and to top it all off the pay is beyond poor and a very dodgy admin team who don’t help
AVOID THIS !!

They only care about profits
Employee (Current Employee) –  East Midlands25 January 2018
Working currently but hopefully not for long.
Salary rubbish for the workload and responsibilities plus it is unequal as some employees are paid more for fewer responsibilities,
Sickness policy ridiculous. Staff don't get paid for the first year so they come into work ill, pass their germs around and make themselves more ill. If you are ill and leave work a little early they take that time off you too! There is no compassion or thought about the employees only profit.
Job descriptions are changed often, with more responsibilities added to them. Staff are not consulted about these changes, do not have to agree to them but are expected to do them.
80% of annual leave has to be booked within the first 3 months and you are not allowed to carry it over.
This company does not value it's employees nor their health and well-being, I thought I'd worked in some pretty poor companies but this one takes the biscuit.
Employees that have worked here a long time say that it's the same complaints made time and time again but nothing ever changes. Maybe if the staff decide that enough is enough and go on strike this may make this company actually take notice and listen.
This site has a very high turnover rate and this won't change until the company listens to their staff and makes changes, Until then staff will continue to leave in droves.
Pros
none
Cons
salary, unfair sickness and annual leave policy, inequality, unfair, not transparent, driven by profit, uncaring and unappreciative, poor choice of senior managment

Support Worker (Current Employee) –  Redcar and Cleveland, North Yorkshire17 January 2018
Place and company is a joke, training is ridiculous, no support from seniors or management, bullying tactics to get what they want.
Stay clear.
People are put to work with service users with little or no training,if you complain you become a target.
New mangers are very frequent safeguarding never away from the place

The units are so mixed and the service users are wrongly placed but money means more
Pros
Nice colleagues, well only a few
Cons
No support, rubbish training, staff led

Arrogant and bullying management
Support Worker/Carer (Former Employee) –  Hertfordshire9 January 2018
Care home run like a zoo. Clients treated worse than captive animals and then managers wonder why behaviours are bad. No interaction with clients who get bored and isolated and behave like the pacing and depressed tigers seen in zoos.
Anyone who complains is bullied - including clients and their representives with threats of dismissa. Have to complete records etc to give positive outcomes to inspectors etc. So that company can maximise revenues and sell their self proclaimed excellence. Decided to leave as not happy to commit fraud
Pros
Trying to improved client outcomes
Cons
Bullying managers, poorly trained management, arrogant, blame culture

Greedy company more interested in money than care providing
Care Support Worker (Former Employee) –  Hereford, Herefordshire3 January 2018
I work 4 years way to long for this company hoping it would get better each manager. 5 different managers in 4 years tells a story. Care staff turnover constant. Was made a senior by one manager. Next manager came along and because i had reportrd a problem about a carers rough moving and handling was told i was disrespectful to the staff. It caused me so much stress i gave senior position back. Lack of staff always agency being called in. Ehole company is just run for the money mot for the care. They dont care full stop.
Pros
Great care colleagues. Seperate staff area.
Cons
Poor wage. Poor staff turnover. Lack of management

Worst place ever
Care Assistant (Former Employee) –  Cumbria27 December 2017
I have worked for priory for nearly two years it is the worst place I have ever worked, management are a disgrace and nurses blame carers for their incompetence. The only reason for staying are your duties as a carer for the residents and the friendships that you make with them. You are constantly on your feet and come home feeling like you've been at the gym for 12hrs. I don't mind hard work I like hard work but this takes the biscuit for a measly 7.65. Carers should be paid a good wage for the work they do and also working very understaffed most shifts. Nurses do not help carers even when understaffed (disgrace) residents don't get the care they deserve.

Good team to work within but obviously this varies from ward to ward hospital to hospital.

Rewarding but challenging job.
Anti-social hours is hardest part of the job.
Great job if you enjoy always being busy with things to do.
