There are what Pret calls "wellbeing days" that you get paid depending how long you worked for Pret and how many sick days you already taken for that year. But I never understood how it worked, managers never explained and keep that information well hidden, maybe out of fear TMs will calculate some extra sick days as many call sick especially on Mondays after weekends.
But the first two days are not paid, no matter if you have a sick note for a week or not. If you have a simple cold which usually takes 2-3 days to get better, it's your problem. Your manager even sees you sniffing and coughing, but no mercy, if you stay home sick you are not paid.

Yeah, Pret has a sick-pay system in place. If it's an illness that you have to take 7 days off or more for then you will have to provide your branch of Pret with a note from your GP or doctor, but yes, you do get sick-pay.
