Nice staff, awful higher managers
Team member (Former Employee) – Wigan – 20 October 2017
The staff are lovely, all wanting to help eachother out, and our manager was very nice and supportive.... that's where the fun ends.
The senior managers are always cutting staff, they expect you to do the job of several people on your own, and have unrealistic targets. They treat staff, even their managers, as disposable assets. They fire managers who don't reach their unrealistic targets, and they chastise lower staff for simple infractions.
The job requires a lot of initiative, as it is up to individual staff to determine what and when to cook, and ensure stock is kept high. Despite this, if there is waste at the end of the day the senior managers get anrgy, but they also get angry when supply can't meet demand. If they want staff with magical powers of foresight then they should probably pay more than minimum wage... or do it themselves since they believe they're so clever.
Long hours, awful managers, no work life balance
