  • Our working hours are usually 37.5 per week split across 7 days and between 8am and 8pm. We’re proud that all our calls are answered in the UK and we want to be here for our customers when they need us. We have lots of different shift patterns available and there’s usually a pattern that suits everyone.

  • We wanted to keep our application process straight-forward, so if we’ve seen the right experience and qualities we look for in your CV and you pass our online test, we’ll invite you for a telephone interview. This is where we find out a little more about you, your skills and experience. If you impress us in this initial interview, we’ll invite you for a second interview with one of the team leaders. They’ll explain more about the role, the types of calls you’ll take, and they’ll give you a flavour of some of the conversations you might have. We’re a friendly bunch, so there’s no need to be nervous. We just want to see the real you, so relax and be yourself.

  • We have lots of shift patterns, some split over 5 days, 4 day or less. Some people like to work longer hours each day and have more days off in the week. Others prefer to work shorter hours over 5 days.

  • We’ve got a fairly informal environment and we want you to feel relaxed to be yourself. Don’t worry about wearing your Sunday best, unless that’s how you feel most comfortable. Smart casual is fine by us.

  • So we can’t tell you what questions we’ll ask you at interview, but we can give you some hints. We’ll all about our customers, so think about what great customer service is. How would you build relationships with customers, get them on-side, make them happy? We’d also encourage you to think about times when you’ve worked towards goals. You should try and give examples using the STAR method – situation, task, action, result. But most importantly, just be yourself.

  • Plusnet perks are some of the best around and what our advisors love most about working for us. Aside from the 25 days’ holiday, free broadband and mobile packages, we get discounts off retail and leisure outlets to pensions and share schemes. Oh and then there’s the free lunches. Yes, that’s right, a free lunch. There is such a thing.

  • In the past all our advisors have been based in the contact centre. This makes working as a team much easier and allows our team leaders to better support colleagues with face-to-face coaching and advice.
The global pandemic of COVID-19 has seen us set up 80% of our colleagues to temporarily work from home. It’s not an environment that suits everyone because some people want the social interaction of working in the office. Others find the home has too many distractions. But we’re giving it a go for now so that our people can feel safe.

  • Our application process is like us, straight-forward. You can apply online and then complete a quick online test. If you score well in the test, we’ll invite you to a telephone interview. If you impress us in this initial interview, we’ll invite you to a second interview with one of the team leaders. Unfortunately, because of coronavirus, we’ve had to remove on-site interviews and tours of our offices. However, on your second interview the team leader will explain more about the role, the types of calls you’ll take, and they’ll give you a flavour of some of the conversations you might have. If all goes well and we think you’re right for the job (and you think we’re right for you) we’ll make you an offer.

  • We have an open and honest culture here. As an advisor, you’ll have regular feedback and coaching in one-to-one sessions with your team leader. We’ve also got great internal communications channels too. Business updates are delivered personally via video or streamed live by our senior management. We use online video calling where teams are working remotely so they can keep in touch. And we have an internal social network so people can share updates, news and activities across the teams, other offices and wider group too.
