Poor communication from managers. Frequently spending half the day idle due supervisors being difficult to find. Temporary staff could be laid off due to lack of work then whole teams would be pulling in extra shifts a couple of weeks later to meet demand. Problems like lack of materials were frequent. Concerns about employee comfort (lack of air-conditioning/heating in summer/winter) would be brought up at various meetings but never addressed. Requirements for promotion to various positions within the company were vague and up to the discretion of hiring managers. No clear pathway for advancement within the company.

I have been with Plexus nearly 3 years unfortunately due to redundancies I am forced to leave.
A typical day for me was to start up a small group of around 10 people assigning tasks and giving an expected output.
during the day I would monitor the line and book in and out product & I would run a Takaya machine and various functional testers.
At the end of the shift I would ensure that the daily trackers and excel spreadsheets were up to date with the correct information and plan for the next working day depending on any priorites that were relayed to me from my manager.
I worked there as a S.M.T Technician and enjoyed my job the shift patterns changed every week which was fine but could be a problem for someone with a family. I got laid off after 4 months as they had no further work for me but said when a job came up in the future i was more than welcome to go back.
