If you are part time you are required to be at work at least 10 minutes before your shift and usually don't get to leave until 5 or 10 mins after your shift has ended (all unpaid). Management are expected to be at work 15 mins before they start and to stay at least 15 mins after to cash up if there are no customers left (could be longer if there are) again that's almost 30 mins a day unpaid.Answered 12 June 2020
Wear something very smart, button up and smart trousers / skirt. Remove any facial piercings, you are allowed 1 set of plain studs in your ears, hide or cover any tattoos and have 'natural' coloured hair, no bright reds, blues or greens, etc.Answered 12 June 2020
Simple application process, just make sure you have personal references rather than professional ones. Even simpler interview, I was just asked some very basic questions and the interviewer just filled in a sheet, took about 10 minutes, I wasn't particularly impressed. I was told i'd hear back in a week and it's been longer than that so i'm assuming I wasn't successful.Answered 27 October 2020
What would you suggest Pets Corner management do to prevent others from leaving?Asked 9 January 2019
Don't favouritise staff over others, don't allow lone working, allow staff to sit down when they are mad on their feet all day, don't keep increasing difficulty of mystery shopper reports, don't make staff spend their lives in store cleaning shelves, I could go on.....Answered 12 January 2020
You need to look into who your higher managers are as they treat their staff terribly and it all gets brushed under the rug. Pets Corner has an insane turn over of staff! Mainly management as they have to deal with so much rubbish for an awful wage but it's minimum wage for part timers who also have a lot asked of them for £4.55 per hour at 16! Having a higher wage would help a little but until the problems between higher management and shop managers are dealt with there will always be problems and a very high turnover of employees (more than 10 in my shop in the year I was there).Answered 12 June 2020
If you were in charge, what would you do to make Pets Corner a better place to work?Asked 19 October 2018
Advertising the company more to bring in more customers. Very frustrating the amount we get that say they hadn’t heard of us/didn’t know we were there or that think we are an individual store. Pay living wage, the only thing that doesn’t really fit into the ethics.Answered 29 April 2019
