Depressing and full of people in the 'lodge'
Construction/Commissioning Team Leader (Former Employee) –  Aberdeen28 August 2019
Management is non existing, real ability is ignored because you have to be in the 'lodge' to progress.
The structure is based on old fashioned practises and good workers are ignored in favour of 'the funny hand shake group'.

Old fashioned and top heavy
Electrician (Current Employee) –  North Seaton21 July 2019
Atrocious agency to work for. Have no intention of ever paying you on time, look for small errors in timesheets so they dont have to pay you in the month.

Have you on a 3/3 rotation which is tough on family life.

Absolutely none

metering Technician (Current Employee) –  Aberdeen, Aberdeen City22 May 2019
Pleasant company to work for, who support and encourage a healthy working ethos.

The people are easy to communicate with and assist you in every step of your working career. If they are not able to assist then they give assistance to finding the correct person to assist you.

Employed as A mechanical technician
Mechanical Technician (Former Employee) –  Various locations20 April 2019
Never worked in the Petrofac office as my role was working offshore as a Mechanical technician when and where required. My role was assigned to the Mechanical department reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor. My duties were covering all breakdowns and planned maintenance schedules and assist with the running of various utility systems. We worked as a multi-skilled shift team, assisting other departments when required.

Few leaders. Pathetic office politics
Manager (Former Employee) –  Aberdeen, Aberdeen City30 November 2018
Worked many years offshore and some in Aberdeen office.
Distinct lack of leadership in many departments. Many managers fill positions with family members and friends; guess who keeps their positions during periods of redundancy? This cannot be a successful business plan or hiring strategy. Consequently, many areas are run by incompetent and inexperienced staff.
Far too much office politics where sycophants reign. A poisonous place to work.
HR is full of inexperienced, naive staff with lots of letters after their names.
Pros
I finally managed to keave
Cons
Leadership virtually nonexistent. Bridge View is a poisonous place to work, but no different from other oil company offices in Aberdeen these days.

Nice well established group of lads where I am based on a Ad Hoc basis. Could go at anytime but seems to be the v-unfortunate way the industry has developed. I'm still here for the long haul and looking forward to any opportunity to pass on my vast diverse knowledge of the industry on to the future generation.
Pros
Still 2/3

Ageing asset
Operations / Production Technician (Current Employee) –  North Wales7 October 2018
Ageing asset with Cessation of production due in around 18 months so nothing to offer in regards to job security and with this brings plenty of challenges in recruiting the right personnel with the right level of experience and a good work ethic coupled with knowledge of working Safely with Hydrogen Sulphide.

If you don’t have to! Don’t
Operations/Logistics Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Aberdeen, Aberdeen City25 July 2018
Having worked in the Bridge View office in Aberdeen I have to say hands down it was the worst experience I have had from an organisation, lacking in leadership within the operations team and a very face fit culture, staff were very undervalued and have workloads which are ridiculous to say the least and the operations team in particular have a lack of resources which had an impact on employee moral, terrible retention and salaries in terms of market value low!

Poor Management Structure/communication flaws
Operations Co-ordinator (Former Employee) –  Aberdeen, Aberdeen City3 July 2018
I had the experience working in a team of operations coordinators dedicated to specific contracts, my team overall were friendly/helpfull, but I did find team leaders and other management had varied styles and levels of expertise which made the job not enjoyable.

There is no flexiblibility in working hours and very little thoughts given to working parents (it seemed leaving on time was frowned upon) and that the later you stayed the more team leaders and the ops manager seemed to like/treat you better.
Pros
Team environment/supportive same level colleagues
Cons
Under staffed/varied individual workloads

Company has changed a lot over the years
Commercial (Former Employee) –  Aberdeen, Aberdeen City29 May 2018
A previously dynamic company which grew incredibly fast. Now feels like that speed has caught up with them but systems & processes lag behind. Arduous hierarchy a micromanaging culture at times.

Some great people.

Proposal Manager (Current Employee) –  Woking, Surrey24 April 2018
It is an enjoyable workplace. People are top notch and delight to work with. Although work is pressurising, working with good people who care about the work as much as you do, compensates for the stress you have to go through.
Pros
great people

systems need to be upgraded

Senior Process Consultant (Former Employee) –  Woking, Surrey23 April 2018
Small consultancy company to work for in the beginning of 2003. Expanded throughout the years. Unfortunately reacted to the downturn of the Oil & Gas industrial, the company was restructured and it lost its autonomy in administration and management.
