Sales Assistant (Former Employee) –  Birmingham, West Midlands4 January 2018
The management is really bad they're very unorganized. Staff forced to work on days that aren't their contracted days and regularly staff are put in for shifts when its not within their availability and without being asked. Shifts are flexible as they're so many staff members you're able to swap your shift with if you're unable to do it yourself.
Pros
25% discount
Cons
managers, long hours.

Your friendly and helpful attitude will see you go above and beyond to care for your customers. I have been with the company for 5+ years and have worked in several departments. Pay isn't that good but benefits are furthermore training is good too. Depending on which store you currently work at management could need some improving.

Retail Sales Consultant (Former Employee) –  Birmingham, West Midlands1 October 2017
Terrible management, chucked in with absolutely no training or product knowledge, Management always expect high demands to be met but then be angry when you don't have the training to do so e.g. need workers on tills but half the staff have not been till trained.
Pros
Other staff can make the long shifts bearable / fun co workers
Cons
Long hours usually, poor management

Working in teams with people you like, makes the day enjoyable and fast. Work is often hard and vigorous, but management is often understanding making work tolerable.

I advanced fast but they work you hard, to progress with them you ned to e willing to give up all your days

A typical day was looking out for shoplifters as there is no proper security and running up and down the stairs to the stockroom

Working for next was a great opportunity for me because I learnt a range of things and working for a big company gave me a insight of how great it would be to work for a big fashion retail business.

Sales Assistant (Former Employee) –  Birmingham19 March 2017
Very busy but that's when its the best. The shifts go by so quickly.
Always on your feet and management never satisfied with their staff. Hours could be ridiculous.. some days 3 hour shifts some 4 meaning I had to volunteer to work like 6 days a week just to earn enough to live off.
Pros
big store, nice staff and customers, breaks
Cons
some shift hours were ridiculous, management, changing shifts without informing!

Good company but job isn't very challenging for someone with an active mind. Would do better with someone who wants to have an easier paced working lifestyle.

Decent place to work
Admin Assistant (Former Employee) –  Birmingham29 November 2016
ok department to work in, alot of work during sale periods for admin team due to returns backlog, can be a lonely environment as role involves working alone often. responsible for tills and cashing up at end of day so need to be really organised as the role involves working in 2 departments either cash office or warehouse.

need to be a good time manager otherwise you can find yourself behind work before you've even begun.

theres heavy lifting involved due to returns being packed in tote boxes.
Pros
great discount, good location, nice atmosphere to work in, in store costa too
Cons
management team can be rude
